Meeting regulations

There's more to BS6173 than just fitting an interlock to the ventilation system. Your clients should be made aware of their responsibilities for suitable fresh air and so on. It may be that opening a few doors and windows isn't enough to facilitate the safe use of a class B appliance. Customers should be made aware that risk assessments may be required, and mechanical (interlocked) fans may have to be installed to ensure the safe use of appliances.

Regulation 27 (4): No person shall install a power operated flue system for a gas appliance unless it safely prevents the operation of the appliance if the draught fails.
