Q1) who needs to install it, does the whole installation need to be carried out by a corgi registered fitter?
A1) NO, only the gas valve and any other works involving the installation of gas need be carried out by a corgi fitter, the electrical element can be carried out by an electrician.
Q2) Which system do I need, a gas proving and interlock system or just an interlock system?
A2) New installations with new catering equipment generally only require a normal interlock, older installations where the cookline equipment doesnt have flame supervision or flame failure devices do need a proving system. its alway best to check with your corgi engineer or appliance supplier before ordering.
Q3) What are flame supervision / flame failure devices?
A3) Flame supervision and flame failure devices are much the same as a pilot light on a domestic boiler, basically its a device that monitors a lit flame, should the flame be extinguished for any reason such as a lack of gas or "washed out" the flame failure device would switch off that hob or appliance, a quick and very basic check can be carried out by your CORGI engineer or contact us.
Q4) Which gas valve should I use?
A4) There are many manufacturers of gas solenoid valves. Intelligas always supplies as standard Blacks Teknigas gas safety shut off valves, they are industry proven and built to a very high standard, other valves are available on request but remember buy cheap buy twice.
